  1. You can start by updating your Whatsapp app by simply visiting your Google Play Store or App Store
  2. Make sure you are connected to a good internet network
  3. Allow all permissions for Whatsapp
  4. Check that content & privacy restrictions are toggled ON, especially the microphone
  5. Disable Data Saver or low data mode (you can do this on iPhone by opening the Settings app > Cellular > Cellular Data Options and disable Low Data Mode from the following menu. For Android, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Data Saver and turn off the option)
  6. Disable battery saver
  7. Clear Android or iPhone cache
  8. Restart your mobile phone and re-install Whatsapp

Finally, you can turn on your location (exactly what I did before I can finally get connected on a video call).

How To Video Call On Whatsapp

Follow the steps below to make a video call on the platform.

  • Open the individual chat with the contact you want to video call.
  • Tap Video Call and it will start ringing. When the other person picks up the call, it will be connected and you will be able to see and talk to the person

Alternatively, open WhatsApp, then tap the Calls tab, and next, tap on New Call (the telephone icon with + sign). Find the contact you want to video call, then tap Video Call
