What is Safetoken OTP?
A Safetoken OTP (one-Time-Password) is a special 6 – 8 character code that can only be used once and is sent only to your registered mobile number. In terms of some of the transactions online, the OTP can be required from you After encoding your user ID and password to complete the login process.
While in Some online Purchase, after you might have input your card Number, an OTP will be sent to your Register Mobile Number to complete the payment process.
Even as it is being used Online, For security Purposes, it expires in 9 minutes after you might have received it. Most of the Online transactions is Initiated by the Interswitch Payment Portal.
This safetoken is not just Generated, you first register for it.
In some Cases, You can get your OTP Using the Quickteller App, Dialling *322*0# (for MTN, Etisalat, Airtel subscribers) or *805*0# (for Glo subscribers).

How to Register for Safetoken One-Time-Password (OTP) Via ATM
To register for the Safetoken OTP Via Atm;
- Go to any nearest ATM Stand.
- Insert you ATM Card.
- Input your 4-digit Pin and Press Enter.
- Select your Bank Account type: Savings or Current.
- From the Menu Screen, Select the Quickteller option.
- Then Select “Pay Bill” Option.
- Next select Others for the Bill payment Menu List.
- Then Enter “322222“as the Biller Code.
- Now Enter your Phone Number as the Customer Reference Number.
- Select Proceed and you will get a display that says “Do you want to make this payment?” Amount Due:N1 (Do not Change the Amount to be Paid)
- Click on “Pay Amount Due”
Now you will get a message indicating a successful Registration. Now you will get an OTP automatically generated to your Registered Mobile Number any time you get to the Point of OTP Required in an Online Transaction.
Remember, For security Purpose that the Token Sent will expire if it’s not used after 9 minutes that it was sent. Note that the OTP is different from the One generated from Online banking when you want to make an online Transfer.
